How can a small, dark storage room be transformed into a pleasant and multifunctional workspace?
That was the main startingpoint of the design brief.
The design explores a strong architectural language that gives direction and character to an otherwise simple space. A key requirement was to maximize storage capacity, as the office also functions as a secondary entrance to the house.
To achieve this, a custom storage wall folds inward, acting as a subtle yet defining room divider. This intervention organizes the space into distinct zones without compromising the open-plan layout. At the same time, it allows natural light entering from both sides to be fully utilized throughout the room.
The cabinetry is finished in a light grey tone, minimizing its visual impact while enhancing the perception of spaciousness. Cutting through this storage wall, a bold blue desk creates a dynamic interaction between the two elements, resulting in a playful and sculptural composition.
The dark red-brown floor further reinforces the geometry of the cabinetry. Its rich, darker tone grounds the space and emphasizes the project's formal language, creating a cohesive and balanced interior.
